Look Up to Look Ahead

Jean Davis
The Summer is past; the harvest is in.
We can vision cozy evenings by the fire.
We look all around us and marvel at the beauty;
The trees dressed in their finest attire.
Soon the leaves will give way in the Autumn breeze and
drift slowly to the earth below.
The squirrells are gathering their food for the Winter.
They won't go hungry when the ground is covered with
new-fallen snow.
We need to take a lesson from our fine- furry - friends;
not to worry but just plan a little ahead.
Yes, we may think and plan for our physical needs
but there is a lot more to be said.
We also have a spiritual self we can't ignore;
it has to be fed every day.
Feed it by communion with God and He'll give
you peace each step of your way.
He tells you not to worry, all your needs He will supply.
If you walk in close communion with Him you spirit will never die.
