Desperate for ideas on Southern vacations? Are you ready to escape with your entire family on a Southern vacation you won't soon forget? If you and your family need to reconnect then you need to go pack your bags and take these vacation ideas in the Southern United States to heart. Our family loves the South, and we found these southern vacations to be sure winners.

Dollywood. Dollywood offers rides and attractions for the whole family, entertainment and attractions that keep your children's attention, themed shops for the shopping mom, and fun food. I enjoyed the fact that this theme park offered rides for my 3 year old, and I noticed a decent amount of teenagers rushing to get back on one of the numerous roller coasters. There really is something to do for everyone in your family. Admission prices were what you would expect to pay for a theme park and ran my family about $150 for our families two day passes. During our stay in Pigeon Forge we ate at several of the hundreds of restaurants available to visitors, our personal favorite being the Applewood FarmHouse Grill. Our family stayed at a cabin that we found on greatcabinsinthesmokies.com for about $95 dollars per night.

Great Wolf Lodge. We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas and this was one of the funnest southern vacations my family has ever spent together. The indoor water park is huge and offers rides and slides for every aged child up through the most active of adults. There were plenty of lifeguards on duty and we found our children to always be very safe. There are plenty of restaurants on site at the Great Wolf Lodge but we chose to eat at one of the many restaurants close to the Lodge. Also in Grapevine you will find a Mills Mall and a Bass Pro Shop. Our family stayed in one of the spacious Grizzly suites and we found the rooms to be extremely clean and nice. Plan on about $200 per night depending on the time of year you visit, we were lucky to find some coupons that reduced the price of our stay.

Savannah, Georgia. Our family stayed in Savannah during one of our recent hurricane vacations and found the city to be very charming and inviting. We were fortunate to stay in the Courtyard Savannah in the Historic District. The Hotel was very clean and the staff extremely nice. We were informed of the many activities available to us. Our family greatly enjoyed taking the River Cruise and I would highly recommend you take one too. While there you have got to try Paula Deen's Restaurant for the best in southern cooking. We really enjoyed the buffet and can't wait to get to go back. Savannah is a city full of history and contains museums, shops, and a well documented historic district that will inform you of such.'' Savannah is a great southern vacation you will look forward to taking.

The next time you are looking for vacation ideas in the southern United States, I would highly recommend you take one of these southern vacations. Happy Traveling.
