You can travel one way for $1.50 on all HART local routes, but I recommend a monthly pass if you are going to use the system frequently. You can ride as much as you want on all local and limited express buses during the month for $50. There are discounts available for certain age groups such as senior citizens and children, so make sure to check if you qualify for any. When you add up how much car payments, insurance, and gas would cost you compared to this price, you will see just how much money you can save. There is a good chance that paying for gas alone will cost you that much.
The routes covered by the HART bus system are very comprehensive also. They do a great job of covering all the areas in the county effectively and there are enough stops to make it very convenient to board a bus from just about any location. I'm not the type of person that minds walking, but there usually isn't much walking that has to be done to reach a boarding destination.
Most buses I have used operate on a half-hour interval for the stops. Therefore, if you miss your stop, it will be a half hour before another one comes along. Some buses operate on different schedules, and you need to check the schedule before you travel. I have many schedule times memorized from taking them for only a month or two, so it is very easy to catch on quickly.
If Tampa, Florida is your next destination to live, check out the HART public transportation bus system. If you want to save money, contribute to a cleaner environment, or just don't want to have to worry about the hassles that can come with a vehicle, then HART may be right for you. It has been a wonderful option for my transportation needs, and I highly recommend it.
