Looking Down at the Waves

Kathy Tysinger
Looking down at the waves on the jagged cliffs,
You ponder the woulda, coulda, shoulda's and ifs.
Certain of the past and unsure what's to come,
Before you get started, you realize you're done.
Not wanting to be there you try and resist,
But the force pulling against you keeps on to insist.
You push past the safe place, ignoring the warnings,
Deciding the recklessness is worth all the mourning.
The life and vitality from the leap that you've made,
Has filled you, consumed you - your fears to rest, they've laid.
With eyes wide open you plunge forward towards bliss,
Because the things in his future are too important to miss!
