Are you looking for a project to do for Easter? Something that you and your child or children can do together? Something that is fun and different than normal decorations? I think I may have found just the project for you and your little ones to do together. A Bunny Buddy!

First you will need to get all of your materials together. You will need the following:

- 1/3 yard (54 - 60 inches) of white fleece or felt

- White craft clue

- 3 yards of white string or yarn

- Scissors

- Polyester Stuffing

- Buttons (assorted colors or shapes)

- White pipe cleaners

- 3/8-inch dowel, about 3 feet long

- sheet of felt (pink or blue, depending on the gender of your buddy)

- 1 child size turtle neck size medium or size 7/8

- 2 pairs of white tube socks

- 2 wire coat hangers

- wire cutters

- White tights

- Overalls, also about a child size medium

- Straw hat

Some of these items may be things you have laying around if you or your children like to do crafts. The clothing items may be things you child has outgrown. If you do not have a medium size in the clothing, you could always make a smaller one or a larger one depending on what you have. If you visit thrift stores or the Goodwill store, you may be able to find something inexpensive that would work at one of them. If not, maybe you have a family member that has some clothes their kids may have outgrown.

This project could take a little time to make and some of the steps should be done by an adult.

1.)You will start with making the ears and the head. You will fold the white felt or fleece in half and put the short ends together, with the right side in and have the fold at the top. You will need to trim the top 12 inches into ear shapes.

2.) Unfold the fleece and run a line of glue up the sides of the head and around the edges of the ears. It should be a thick line of glue. Leave the bottom edge unglued.

3.) You will then fold the top layer back down and press firmly around the line of glue. When this has dried you will turn the head right side out.

4.)Now you will take the coat hangers and you shape each one into a pointed loop that will be about 12 inches long. (This part next should be done by an adult) An Adult should trim off the excess wire with the wire cutters.

5.) Insert the wire loops you made into the bunny's ears.

6.) Now take the felt that you chose, whether pink or blue and cut 2 pieces that are just a but smaller than the ears. You will glue them in the ears and let them dry.

7.) After they have dried you will gather each ear at the base and tie it with the string or yarn.

8.)An adult should be the one to use the dowel and put it inside the head, fill the top half of the dowel with the polyester stuffing. The bottom half will be his neck.

9.) Next gather the fleece at the neck and tie it with the string or yarn.

10.) Now you can decorate the face as you wish and glue on felt cheeks, pink would be a good color for that. Glue on pipe cleaner whiskers and a felt nose. Then use buttons for the eyes.

11.) Stick the dowel and neck fabric down inside the neck of the white turtleneck. Tie a length of string of yarn around the turtleneck to secure it.

12.) Take the polyester stuffing and stuff the arms and body of the turtleneck. Stuff the polyester stuffing into the tights as well. Take the turtleneck and tuck it into the tights and tie those into place with the yarn or string. Fill the tube socks with polyester stuffing and place one pair over the cuffs of the overalls and then insert the feet of the tights into the second pair of the socks. Now you will slip the whole ensemble into the overalls that you chose.

13.) Cut two hole into the top of the straw hat in the crown of it and stick the ears up through the holes you had cut.

14.) Sit your bunny up in a chair. You may need to tie them in place.

15.) Now the last step is to name your Bunny Buddy!

If you have enough material, you could make two Bunny Buddy's. Two girls, two boys or one of each.

You now have a cute and unusual decoration that you can sit on your porch that will wow all of your neighbors.
