One of the newest eating establishments to open in Royal Oak is Lockhart's BBQ. Located at 202 E. Third in downtown Royal Oak in what was once an old bank building, this barbecue joint gives Southern barbecue a distinct Michigan flair. That's because the meat is smoked using hardwood from Michigan forests, and you can choose from several types of Michigan craft beer to accompany your meal.
The restaurant has become so popular that it is suggested that diners call at least 30 to 45 minutes before they will be arriving to have their names put on the wait list. You can do this by calling 248-584-4227.
