Looking for a Great Bargain? Try Consignment Stores!
Are You a Passionate Shopper? Try Consignment Stores for Some Great Deals!
A consignment store is a store that sells clothing (or other items) that have been gently used. Everything is in excellent condition. When they are sold, the original owner receives a percentage of the sale price. Consignment store are very popular for women's clothing, but some also sell antiques.
Some consignment stores specialize in high-end designers or brand names like Chanel or Louis Vuitton. But other consignment stores just have attractive stylish clothes that may not have well-known designers. You can find consignment stores listed in the yellow pages. Visit each store to see which one suits your taste the best.
The most challenging thing about consignment stores is that every item is literally an original. You are not going to see that same dress in a larger or a smaller size. You are never going to know what you will find every day. And if you don't buy an item the minute you see it and fall in love with it, it can be snapped up in seconds by someone else! So certainly if you see something that you like, then get it that day. Some stores will allow you to place items on hold for twenty four or forty eight hours.
At many consignment stores some items will be marked at a deeper discount. This means the store now has had the item for a longer period of time and they want to move it out of the store quickly. So this is a great way to get a terrific bargain.
Sometimes items you buy at a consignment store will need alterations. Some stores can suggest a tailor for you, they are certainly accustomed to women needing this service. You may find a great dress that is one or two sizes bigger than your usual size and you decide to get it and have it taken in. Remember that a good tailor is usually a shopper's best "secret weapon" when it comes to consignment store shopping!
Now that you are a consignment shopper, you are going to save a lot of money. What will you do with it? Buy more clothes! Happy consignment shopping!

Hi Mark, :)
I would suggest asking consignment shops in your area what the "going rate" is. Different communities will charge differently for items and you want to be sure your rate is competitive. If you have some crafter friends, you could also ask them what consignment shops pay. Good luck!
