Dieters Look Smart, Here Are Treats that Are Low on Calories and Taste Fantastic

If you are on a strict diet you don't have room to waste the calories you are permitted to eat. Being hungry only defeats the purpose. If you are in need of a small snack to keep yourself from eating everything in sight may I recommended the following tasty and low calorie Snack foods.

Sometimes you just have to have a piece of chocolate. Research shows you that a small piece of dark chocolate is actually good for you. Aren't into the taste of dark chocolate, but want a bit of chocolaty goodness anyway, give 1 York Peppermint Pattie a try at an astonishing low 140 Calories.

Another great chocolate treat on the go is a ½ cup of TCBY Hand-scooped Vanilla Chocolate Chunk frozen Yogurt at an amazing 140 cal.

In your local freezer you should have no trouble finding the following Ice Cream treats. Blue Bunny Root Bear Float Bars weight in at a fantastic 80 Calories, with Orange Cream Bars by Blue Bunny coming in a close second at only 100 Calories. Frozen Pops made from fruit or flavor Kool-Aid are only 50 Calories for one.

Love Starbucks but know that those calories would just kill your diet? Do the next best thing and splurge with 1 Starbucks Mocha Frappuccino Bar for a mere 120 Calories.

Not into frozen treats? No problem, can I interest you in something salty? How about 7 Snyder's Multigrain Pretzel Sticks at only 120 Calories or you can indulge in 20 Baked! Tostitos Original Bite Size Tortilla Chips for only 110 Calories.

Are you hankering for a bit of fruit or vegetables? Reach for 1 ounce of banana chips with only 147 Calories to add to your total or you can enjoy 10 raw baby carrots with ¼ cup hummus for a low 144 Calories.

Trying to get your nuts in then reach for 21 raw almonds at an amazing total of only 147 calories. Or you can go for ¼ cup of Woodstock Cherry & Ginger Almond Crunch Granola for only 115 calories. Not that adventurous or don't have Woodstock Brands in you Store try ¾ cup of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds for only 130 Calories.

Need a warm treat on colder days? Try Amy's Light in Sodium Organic Lentil Soup (use only ½ a can) or Campell's Low Sodium Chicken with Noodles Soup (¾ can) at only 150 Calories each.

Make your own trail mix at only 150 Calories. Simple combine ¾ cup of air-popped popcorn (lightly salted) mixed with 2 tablespoons sliced almonds and 2 tablespoons of Craisins.

Have some eating fun with Fruit Kebabs. ½ cup cubed fruit consisting of melons, pineapples and berries dipped in 6 ounces of plain, low-fat yogurt. Put them on a Kebab Skewer and enjoy a very healthy, fun and delicious treat at only 150 Calories.

In a Hurry and on the go? A Starbucks Grande (16 oz) of Café Latte with nonfat milk weights in at 150 Calories and so does 1 Quaker Fruit Flavored Crisp Bar.

As you can see there is no excuse why you can't stay within your diet and still enjoy tasty treats at the same time. The trick is not to over indulge. When picking out a snack you want to either get something fresh or if it has to be prepackaged make certain taht it has less then 2 Grams of fat and is under 10 Grams of Sugar.
