Looking for an Online Pharmacy to Buy Dog Medicine From?

Buying medication for your dog online may sound like a money saving idea, but is it really? Sure, you can save some money, but are you getting the medication that the veterinarian wants you to give to your dog? If not, then you are sacrificing the health of your dog just to save a few bucks.

According to the FDA, there are websites that sell medicines everyday with no prescription needed. Even though these websites are out there and people use them everyday does not mean that this is the best place to get the medication you need for your dog. But just as there are the websites that are not good and are not legitimate pharmacies, there are those that are the legitimate ones and you can get your dog's medicines from them with no worry.

How do you find the legitimate online pharmacies? There are red flags that you can watch for when searching the internet for a place to order your dog's medications. The first, and probably the largest, red flag is a pharmacy that does not require a prescription for prescription medicines. Another red flag to look far is if the pharmacy is from a foreign country. One more red flag would be the online pharmacy stating that the veterinarian on its staff will carefully evaluate your dog after you have submitted an online questionnaire, then the veterinarian will make a diagnosis and prescribe the medication that they feel best suites the diagnosis. This is not a good idea because a veterinarian should personally examine the ill dog and decide on the diagnosis and treatment after this examination.

So if none of these red flags present themselves is that all you can look for when trying to determine if the online pharmacy is legitimate or not? No this is not all, there is also the Vet-VIPPS or the Veterinary-Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites seal to look for on the website page. You can either look for the seal on the website or you can go to the NABP website to see if the pharmacy is listed among other pharmacies with this accreditation.

One other thing you can do is to ask your veterinarian clinic if they use an online pharmacy or if they can recommend one. Your vet may use a state-licensed Internet pharmacy service that works with your veterinarian, requires a written prescription from your vet and strongly supports the relationship between the vet and the dog owner.

So be careful when surfing the internet looking for a place to buy your dog's medications. The wrong one can be detrimental to the health of your dog.

I always buy meds for pet online. I think it is a great way to save and buy flea medicines such as Frontline Plus, K9 Advantix etc at really affordable prices. I found this site http://www.medsforpet.com for quality medicines. I have been buying flea medicines from them for a long time now.
