Looting and Vandalism Rampant in Fort Greene
Neighborhood: Fort Greene
Brooklyn, NY 11209
United States of America
Crazy crimes such as looting and vandalism seemed to run rampant throughout Brooklyn's Fort Greene neighborhood last week. The 88th Precinct definitely has its hands full.

The seemingly safe Long Island University campus was the site of a looting on October 14. A 28-year-old LIU student's locker was broken into between 8:45 and 9:45 AM. When the victim returned he found that his MacBook and text books had been taken. This looting marks the third such crime on the campus in as many weeks.

Another looting crime happened on October 17 in an apartment building on Adelphi Street. During this crime, five masked men held up the 26-year-old victim at gunpoint in the building's lobby. They made off with cash and a cell phone.

Looting wasn't the only crime in Fort Greene last week. Vandalism is also rampant along Vanderbilt Avenue. On October 14 a 26-year-old woman was confronted between Greene and Gates avenues at shortly after 11:00 PM. The victim was grabbed from behind, beaten, and robbed.
