Do you struggle with seasonal allergies, hay fever or just general allergy symptoms? Do you wake up at night with a tickle in your throat that keeps you awake with coughing? Do you suffer from itchy watery eyes and throat? Do you sometimes feel dizzy for no apparent reason? If so, you're probably suffering from seasonal allergies or an allergic reaction.

If you're like me, you've tried several antihistamine products, all of which either don't relieve symptoms or make you so tired that you can't function. Recently, however, I found the answer to my allergy woes. Loratadine is the active ingredient in the antihistamine Claritin-D. This product was only available by prescription for quite awhile. But now we're in luck and can get it over the counter.

Loratadine works wonders on my hay fever, seasonal allergies and most any reaction that I get. It relieves the itchy, watery eyes. It soothes my throat so that I don't cough myself crazy at night. Loratadine doesn't cause drowsiness, sluggishness or fatigue like so many other antihistamines. I don't feel lethargic when I take it. I can still concentrate, operate a vehicle or do any of my normal activities. My reactions function as usual.

Some non-drowsiness products I've tried make me feel nervous and shaky. Loratidine doesn't make me nervous in any way. It doesn't make me feel irritable either. I can use it day or night and sleep well and awake refreshed. During the day, I hardly notice I've taken anything, excpet for the fact that I have relief from symptoms.

Loratadine is a long -acting product as well. That's a huge help for the allergy sufferer. tlineLoratadine doesn't cycle or wear off after a few hours like so many other products. Other antihistamines can leave you with the drowsiness even after the sneezing and coughing have returned. That's a miserable irony. It's important to be able to take Loratadine in the morning and know I won't have to take it again for another 12-24 hours.

During the spring and fall I struggle every day with pollen and weather -related allergy and sinus issues. I am sneezing and blowing my nose constantly. At night, allergies related coughing can keep me awake for hours. If I had to stop for a rest every time my allergies acted up, I soon be out of a job. In my family, I can't afford down time either. Loratadine is an important product for me to keep pace with a busy life.

Being a busy active mom, these factors are very important. Loratadine helps me to stay on-task and function effectively. I hold a job a hectic job as a teacher and I need to be quick and mentally alert and efficient. I can't be coughing and sneezing with a class of students. And I can't afford to be drowsy or out of focus. Loratadine keeps me symptom- free for the long busy day. Loratadine helps me to keep up with the family, work, house and life in general.

My only concern about Loratadine is that as more research is done, scientists may find dangers that we are unaware of now. I'm concerned about the effects of long-term usage. I'm just going to keep my ears open and keep abreast of medical information. But for now, Loratadine a big part of my allergy arsenal.
