I've tried numerous brands of eyeliner over the past mrphmmerdl years. I liked one of Avon's fairly well (as odd as that sounds), and the Dior Crayon Eyeliner is mighty fine. Mighty fine indeed. But this Contour Resist by L'Oreal just keeps getting better and better each time I use it.
As I've said before, I am the AntiChrist of cosmetics. Just ask any optomitrist. They hate me because I wear my eyeliner on my lower lid. No. I mean on my lower lid. Inside. Between the lashes and the eyeball. Yeah. There. Fifteen years ago I was warned that I would surely ruin my tear ducts by doing it this way. Rest assured I retain the ability to cry in spite of my apparent heresy. So there.
Anyway, choosing to put a cosmetic in such a tender area means that I tend to go with very soft products so as not to scratch the area. There are many good soft eyeliners out there, but man oh man this Contour Resist is just sweeeeeet. I do not have to fight with it at all. I mean it just gliiiides on. Many similar products require me to keep running the thing back and forth and back and forth and.. well yeah.. in order to get the desired blackness in that line. The Dior Crayon takes maybe 4 or 5 swipes. This baby here is like TWO swipes. Look. I'm lazy. This matters.
What makes it even more suited to my brand of warped application is that it is waterproof. This is probably why it is so easy to apply, actually. I think maybe with the other brands, I am first removing the moisture, and then the thing can actually lay down its color... but the Contour Resist doesn't need to remove the moisture first. It just flat lays it down, bay-bee. A beautiful, deep, rich black line is what it leaves, and it lasts anywhere from 4-6 hours. That is more than reasonable.
The part Lars likes best is that, unlike the majority of the items in my cosmetics bag, this one did not cost an arm and a leg. No. This one was a cool $8. Niiiice. That is not bad at all for a self-advancing eyeliner, but for one which actually out-does the higher-priced competition, well, that's a real bargain.
I am going with a full 5 stars worth of satisfaction for the Loreal Contour Resist Long Lasting Eyeliner. I just could not be happier, folks, and I do believe this product will be one of the very few I buy on a regular basis from now on.

ALL Eyeliners smudge to a certain degree if you rub your eyes... but to answer your other question, I said in the review "and it lasts anywhere from 4-6 hours."
love the review.. its these kind of reviews that actually get people to buy the product.. you have to tell people your story.. a simple its great doesnt cut it for me.. so thx appreicate it. but does it stay long?? w.o smudging??
Oh, my how can you wear eye liner like that? My biggest problem with eyeliners is the smearing? Yet, I can't going out the door without wearing any.
