L'Oreal Elvive Smooth Silk Light Conditioner:A Review

I have always suffered with dry hair, it breaks easily and is really prone to frizz, but in the summer, the ends of my hair stay dry and frizzy, but my roots get greasy and lank quite quickly.

A friend pointed a conditioner out to me, L'Oreal Elvive smooth silk light conditioner, so I thought I would give it a try.

The claims:

The formula, enriched with silk protein is said to wrap hair to increase smoothness, and it is also said to provide a 48 hour shield from dampness and humidity.

Hair is meant to be smooth and detangled, have a "sublime smooth and brilliant texture" and be "silky, full and flowing"

The price:

Depending on the retailer around £2.50.

The product:

The conditioner itself is actually quite thin and runny, it doesn't smooth over the hair particularly well either. I had to use a considerable amount to cover my chin length hair.

The smell.

It has a very synthetic smell, I can't quite figure out what it is, but it is reminiscent of hair dye.

Does it work?

Sort of, my hair did feel slightly smoother and looked shinier, but it only seemed to affect the top layer of my hair, underneath still felt dry. My hair was still frizzy and flyaway.

The conditioner does not seem to penetrate deep enough into the hair to make a significant difference.
