L'Oreal Hydra Pure Anti Regreasing Moisturiser: A Review

I have always suffered with oily skin, ever since I can remember I have had open pores, which seems to make my skin glow like a beacon, particularly in the summer.

I tried all sorts of foundations that claimed to stop skin from getting greasy, but nothing seemed to work.

A friend told me to start with a moisturiser to combat oily skin, so I started with a well known brand, renowned for it's quality ingredients.

L'Oreal pure Zone anti regreasing moisturiser with "pore target technology" which is said to help transport the product deeper into your pores for maximum effect.

The texture.

It has a slightly greasy texture, but once applied it dries very quickly. It smooths over and absorbs into the skin easily with no flaking or residue. It is a very pale blue colour, but don't let this put you off, most oil reducing moisturisers are, it has something to do with the zinc and clay present in them.

The smell.

It has a very distinctive smell, there are traces of clay in there, but mostly it is a very chemical, synthetic smell.

The price.

Around £5 a bottle (depending on where you but it)

Active ingredients.

The foremost active ingredient in this is salicylic acid, this is also used in face washes and cleansers

Does it work?

For a while, the effects are noticeable after a few moments, your skin appears more matte. But unfortunately this effect doesn't last very long, my skin was back to being shiny and oily within the hour. The only thing it did dry out was my lips, so if you apply it, make sure you don't put it anywhere near your lips or eyes. Also it claims to help even out the skin tone, after using the product for a month I saw no change in my skin tone.If you suffer with oily skin, then I do not recommend this.

Darn, I am oily, too! Let me know if you find anything that works really well. ;)

Everytime I hear about this product, I think of the commercial and hear Eva talking about it.... :o)
