Lorenzen Wright Death and 911 Call Investigation Update

Lorenzen Wright's death has impacted the Memphis area. The Lorenzen Wright 911 call investigation was started because there were questions as to why after a 911 call was placed from his phone on the day he went missing that he wasn't found until days later, dead.

There are some aspects of the 911 call in question that aren't being made public because of the pending investigation into his death. Speaking of these items in a public way could impede on the Memphis Police department's investigation.

However, the 911 call was fielded by a dispatcher in the nearby suburb of Germantown, TN. She plotted the latitude and longitude and determined that the call was not in their jurisdiction. Her supervisor tried to plot the location on his iPhone and could not.

Here's a good side note. In the particular area where Lorenzen Wright's body was found, there are a couple of jurisdictions at play. It just so happens that the call went to the Germantown dispatcher instead of the City of Memphis.

In reading over the statements, which are available at the Memphis Commercial Appeal, it sounds as if the issue at hand was that the call could not be plotted. Of course, more details will become available after the investigation is completed.

There are questions over whether or not the call was mishandled. There are questions over whether or not had the call been handled when made, would Lorenzen Wright still be alive today? Unfortunately, that's not something that will ever be known, only speculated.

Lorenzen Wright's murder is one of Memphis' highest profile crimes of the year. More high profile crimes that have happened within the city can be found here.

We will never know what occurred those final minutes of Lorenzen Wright's life. He went missing on July 19^th, and wasn't found until July 28^th. It's been a week since his body was found, but there's been little released in the investigation. Given the high profile nature of this offense, I doubt much will be released to the media until the prosecuting attorney has a very strong case against whoever is responsible for this heinous crime.
