Los Angeles Dodgers' Outfield: A Fantasy Baseball Breakdown
Who Will Emerge from the Crowded Dodger Outfield for Your Fantasy Team?
1. Matt Kemp
You may think I'm crazy, but I believe that Matt Kemp is the best outfielder in this outfield, Manny included. Kemp has an incredible batting eye and a great overall skill set. Over the remainder of the season, look for Kemp to come close to 30 runs, 30 RBI, and 6 HRs...fairly average numbers, right? The key with Kemp, and why fantasy owners should pay so much attention, is that he has the ability to add on 12 more stolen bases before the season is up. His power-speed combo, along with a batting average that will remain around .285-.300, is invaluable to fantasy owners and makes him worthy of all fantasy baseball lineups.
2. Manny Ramirez
The latest acquisition by the Dodgers, Manny brings a great power skill set (and a crazy attitude) to the Dodgers. The power and average boost will help to solidify their second outfielder spot from here on through the end of the season. Manny will hit close to .300-.310, adding in ten more homers, a ton of runs, and plenty of RBIs. A great player to have for the stretch run.
3. Juan Pierre
The third best outfielder here, Pierre brings a great deal of speed to the fantasy owner. He hits for absolutely no power, but could steal 20 more bases before the season is up. His batting average should remain fairly fantasy-average (around .280) and he will also contribute in runs. A borderline fantasy player.
4. Andre Ethier
I really like Ethier as a young player, but there just isn't anything spectacular about his skill set. If he gets the at-bats, he is a solid all around contributor. I would look for 6 more home runs and a .290 batting average from here to the end of the season.
5. Andruw Jones
Man, I can't help but think that they really messed up by signing this guy. His bat has some pop, so I would expect anywhere from 6-8 more home runs from here through the end of the season. Jones' skill set looks very similar to that of Andre Ethier, minus the batting average. Jones' batting average will always be below .250, and I expect him to go somewhere around .220-.230 the rest of the way.
