Los Angeles Haunted Hayride

LA Halloween Theme Park Tickets on Sale Sept. 5

Rachel de Carlos
The Haunted Hayride is an eco-conscious Halloween attraction that claims it will "scare you without scaring the wildlife."

The Haunted Hayride takes place on Gillette Ranch in Calabasas, CA. Legend says that in the 1920's, King Gillette was hosting a party for Los Angeles' elite, when escaped inmates from an insane asylum invaded the mansion. The guests tried to get to their cars and escape, but the inmates were much faster and more aggressive. Only a few of those high profile guests escaped with their lives. It's been said that on most nights in October, frantic guests can be seen wandering through Gillette Ranch looking for their cars.

The Haunted Hayride

The Haunted Hayride has been a popular tradition on the east coast, and is one of the scariest events a scare seeker can find. Hay filled wagons drawn by tractors bump through the forest where pure horror awaits. Unidentifiable creatures try to jump into the wagon, spiders fall from the trees, and insane asylum inmates are on the prowl. The Haunted Hayride takes you deep into the Gillette Ranch woods in the dead of night. Be afraid...

Ghost Stories

Remember sitting around a campfire, eating s'mores, drinking hot apple cider and listening to scary and mysterious tales that everyone swears are true? The Haunted Hayride storytellers are professional "scare masters" and will take you back to those frighteningly memorable times. Readings will include Tales from the Crypt, Twilight Zone, and Halloween Classics. Space is limited, so purchase tickets early to avoid disappointment.

The Haunted Carnival

The Haunted Carnival is for the entire family and is suitable for younger children who aren't ready for the scares of the Haunted Hayride. Check out the Halloween Hay Maze, pumpkin face painting, or rides that could be operated by a headless horseman. Teens who want even more excitement after the hayride will find plenty to do, while mom and dad recuperate with a cup of hot cocoa.
