Los Portales

Los Portales is a Mexican food restaurant located in downtown Powder Springs, Georgia nestled between Austell and Hiram .

Many locals hangout at Los Portales as a place to meet and greet. If your lucky, you may catch a live local band playing music. Don't be afraid to get up and dance while you wait for your delicious meal. People come to los portales to loosen the strains of the day. It's on their minds to have a drink, eat authentic mexican cuisine and maybe even play one of their video games at the bar.

The wait staff is friendly and efficient and the owner is around often. The owner likes to speak with the customers to make sure your having a good experience in their establishment, Just one of the perks of a small town business.

I enjoy going to Los Portales for the drink specials. Margaritas are only $3 and flavored margaritas start at $4. Of course you can drink by the pitcher too.

I'm a seafood fan so I love ordering the fish tacos which are made with Tilapia. Fresh seafood paella is also a specialty of theirs, but keep in mind it may take 30 minutes to come out. You can never go wrong with choosing a combination from the menu and be sure to join them for lunch. Lunch specials can start at $5.99

The location of Los Portales kind of puts it out of the way from major traffic, which can be a good thing or negative depending on whether you like large crowds or not. It's tucked away in quiet Powder Springs Square on the other side of the Powder Springs police station and senior citizen home. So, raucous behavior is not a great idea.

All in all, if you like Mexican food, pleasant personalities and good drinks, los portales may be the place for you to dine on your next visit to the west side of highway 20.
