Lose 7lbs a Week with Bananas

Losing weight is a goal for many people. Even more than that, people are desperate for ways to lose weight quickly. Every week, there seems to be a new trend buzzing around. With this article, decide if this new Japanese trend is worth a try.

There is a new trend going around Japan. Apparently, bananas is the secret component for losing weight quickly. This trend has been going through Japan for a while now, and it is starting to spill over into other countries.

This trend is called the "Morning Banana Diet". Unlike some fab diets, it is said to be completely safe. Even some American nutritionists are signing off on the diet.

How does it work? It is fairly simple diet that can be followed by anyone. Eat one or two bananas with a cup of water for breakfast and sensible meals for lunch and dinner. An optional snack is also allowed after dinner. That's all; doesn't seem too hard, does it?

The reason it works is because of the two powerful words in the name of the diet: banana and morning. Eating breakfast within an hour of waking up really revs up the metabolism. People who eat breakfast burns 300 more calories a day than people who decides to skip the meal. Bananas speed up fat burning by 25%. So eating only bananas for the most important meal of the day jumpstarts your metabolism and fat burning that lasts all day.

Another benefit to the "Morning Banana Diet" is that bananas works as a fat blocker and stops hunger. The fiber in bananas fills up the stomach and curves hunger. The fiber also automatically direct calories to the digestive system and blocks them from being absorbed into fat.

I tried this diet for a week, to see if the 'lose 7lbs a week' claim was valid. Each morning I ate two medium-sized bananas with a glass of water. I still kept up my exercising routine of walking 5 miles every morning. For lunch, I would eat a grilled chicken salad or tuna salad with a handful of crackers and yogurt. Dinner was vegetables and baked fish or chicken. I skipped on the optional snack and drank 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

I've been on a similar diet for the past couple of months. The only difference was eating the bananas instead of bagels for breakfast. I've been losing 1 to 2 pounds a week, steadily. During my one week on the "Morning Banana Diet", I've lost 6 pounds. I think that is a significant difference. I will definitely continue with this trial to see how long the weight loss will continue.

Providing Vitamin C, Potassium, B6 and Dopamine, the "Morning Banana Diet" can not be considered unsafe and provide some vital nutrients. The new trend should not be called a crash diet even if it allows for substantial weight loss quickly. The "Morning Banana Diet" may just be a keeper.
