Lose Ten Pounds in Time for Thanksgiving or Christmas

How to Lose Ten Pounds in Time for the Holidays!

Brad Wood
The Holidays are upon us, and while we may look forward to spending time with family and friends, some of wish we could lose a bit of weight first.

Thankfully, it's possible to do so if we adjust our diets a bit.

It's easier to lose ten pounds than you probably think, you just have to motivate yourself.

All you have to do is to be honest with yourself. What exactly do you eat every single day? Do you eat fattening foods for dinner? Junk food in between meals? Ice cream for late night snacks? Come on now, admit it. The only way you're gong to be motivated enough to lose weight is if you're honest with yourself. Being able to pinpoint your eating habits will help you find ways to change.

Now, once you realize that you need to cut down on the junk food and fattening food, you need to exchange it all for healthy food. Weight loss doesn't mean "starve yourself", it means "eat healthier". By that, it means you need to eat vegetables instead of potato chips. You need to eat fruit instead of ice cream and candy. For meats, you should eat lean meat that is filled with protein. Tuna, boneless chicken, and poultry are good choices. You can also drink protein shakes in between meals if you need something extra to help you fill up.

Now that you know what types of food to eat, you'll need to know exactly HOW to eat. If you really want to lose weight, you'll need to only take one small bite at a time and chew slowly. Don't scarf it all down, but chew it all very slowly. Drink some water in between each bite. This will help fill your stomach up so you'll eat less.

Cut down on the salt as well. Salt and sugar both need to only be eaten in moderation. This is very important if you want to lose weight by December.

Exercise is important for losing weight as well. You don't have to do a whole lot, just try to do a bit more than what's normal for you. If you're normally sedentary, then try doing a bit of work everyday. Try cleaning something, or go for a walk. If you normally do things like that, then try walking longer and faster. Try cleaning more. Just push yourself a tad bit more than what you're used to, and before you know it, you'll be more fit!

So here's a quick rundown on what you need to do in order to lose ten pounds by mid-December: be honest with yourself; cut down on fattening foods, and eat boneless chicken, tuna, and poultry instead; drink protein shakes and eat fruits and veggies for snacks; chew everything slowly and drink one sip of water between each bite; push yourself to working out a bit more. If you can do all of these things, weight loss will be an attainable goal for you!
