Losing Weight the Quick and Healthy Way by Knowing Your PH Balance

Tye
Over the weekend, my girlfriends and I went to see Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married. I loved the movie, and if you haven't seen it yet, you need to. I identified with the Jill Scott character more than the others. Over the year, and three kids later, I have put on some weight. I am not as overweight as her character was, but I am still self-conscious about my appearance. Being recently divorced is doing nothing to help my self-esteem.

One quote from the movie that I remember is "If you don't like the way you look, change it". Too many years I have gripped about my weight gain that never left after giving birth to three kids, but I have yet to do anything about it. I have three very good reasons for losing weight (my own self-esteem, my health, and my own comfort) and none for continuing in my present lifestyle.

While researching and trying different alternative lifestyles, I will document my process and the new knowledge that I will obtain in daily articles. This will be an interesting journey as I learn new things about how our bodies work and how to take better care of them. I don't really anticipate losing 30 pounds in 30 days since this isn't what is recommended by doctors and nutritionists as healthy and long-lasting weight loss.

**Keep in mind that I am not a doctor and is just a writer who is documenting her journey to a thinner and healthier person.

Day One: The Detox

The first thing I've learned was the art of balancing the acid and alkaline in your body. Our bodies are so complex and are driven by electrical impulses. Too much acid in your system can cause your red blood cells to stick together, become weak and eventually die. When this happens the body becomes polluted and your alkaline reserve will be depleted trying to clean it up. After all the alkaline are gone, you body starts to line your artery walls with cholesterol, making it even more deadly. Other affects of being too acidic is acne, heartburn, weight gain and loss of energy. Alkalizing your body is a great procedure to become healthy and also lose weight.

I show all the symptoms of being extremely acidic, so the first thing I need to do is to detox some of the acid out of my system and to alkalize my body. Some people say that you should do this cleanse for 7 to 10 days, but I am only doing it for one this go round. There is tons of information on the web about cleansing diets or raw diets will help with this.

For cleansing, I am starting by drinking over a gallon of water every day. I don't need to go over how important water is to your health and any weight loss goal. To thoroughly flush the access acid from my body, I figured that water should be a main ingredient in my diet.

The next part of the detoxification is to load up on alkaline-rich vitamins and foods. When looking for a good source of alkaline, try green vegetables. I visited my local GNC store and purchased their GNC Maximum Greens Complete supplements. For breakfast, lunch, and dinner I ate foods that are best for alkaline such as: broccoli, carrots, celery, grapes, lettuce, and grapefruit. I added lemons to my water for more alkaline.

Watching what I put in my body is just the first step to balancing my PH. The other bad elements that contribute to making your body a hazardous environment is stress and negative emotions. Prayer is a tactic I use to eliminate my daily stress and to have a more positive outlook on my life. Some people enjoy yoga and meditation; whatever is effective in decreasing stress from your life.

Balancing my PH is just the first step to getting thin and healthy. A better diet and exercise will come in the days to come.
