Losing Weight is My New Years Resolution for 2009

Since I have moved to New York State keeping my weight under control during the winter has been a challenge. Every spring and summer is spent losing weight, that I put on during the winter. Well this year I hope to get a head start with this weight loss ritual. I hope to start the weight loss regime on January 1st, 2009 and get down to my goal weight of 200 by December 31, 2009. That will mean I will have to lose 38 lbs. I think that I can do that.

Losing weight in the spring and summer is easy. I am outdoors all the time, fishing, riding my bike, playing tennis, etc. The key will be to lose weight from January 1st to April. Ist, because I am usually sitting at the computer or watching sports or CSI programs on TV during these months.

So, how will I lose weight during 2009.

1. I will be using the Nintendo Wii for exercising. .

I have discovered how potent the Nintendo Wii is for exercising. I have lost 20 pounds in 2008, since using Wii Fit. I now have Active Life: Outdoor Challenge and Wii Sports Boxing. The Wii Sports Boxing is a real sweat generator. I use every third day for 40 minutes and try to do 15 rounds in that time - the length of a traditional boxking match. I use Wii Fit and Active Life: Outdoor Challenge the other two days. Believe me, my sleep time is has increased. .

2. I will be using my bicycle as the main form of transportation

I will also ride my bike everytime I go fishing. We live in the Catskills of New York, so it will be a challenge to ride my bike over some of these rolling hills. I think that I will be fishing or dead during one of my expeditions. Most of riding will take place from April to November because of horrible snow we receive.

3. I will have to regulate my Calorie intake

Keep my calorie intake down to 2100 calories per day. This is a challenge and a half. I will need a small food journal to keep track of my food intake, which is time consuming and a royal pain in the butt. I am also a good cook. I will have to go out of my way to cook my own seperate low-calorie meals. I have been married several times, and I done all the cooking. I have yet to have a relationship with a woman who is a better cook. I know that there are many women who can out cook me, but I have not been involved with one. I will also have to cut down on the soda intake or find a substitute.

4. I will be eating lots of veggies

A largerr vegetable intake each day. This I believe is why Weight Watchers is so successful, whenever the hunger bug strikes, I have to eat raw veggies. A diet for rabbits, but it works.

5. I will keep an online weight loss diary.

I will also be keeping an online Losing Weight in 2009 diary. I believe that keeping an online diary will force me to keep to my weight loss program. It works for other people, why not me.
