Lost

Dami Owoyele
I am here in the room,
with a sense of gloom of
an impending doom.

I am in misery,
And can only query
my destiny.

Life is strife.
Its concept mystifies me.
Yet I strive to survive.

I am confused, utterly
bemused about the chances
that avails me, yet misused.

The light to the path of might
is not bright.

I am in the dark waiting to be
delivered by my redeemer.
Will he ever discover me?

I shout to break-out, but i am
without.

I have been here and there.
Where is my grandeur?

I aspire for my inspired; yet
it seems my desire is on fire.

I am lost.

Excellent poem. I agree with A.M. It is when we let go and stop looking that we find the real answer. :-)

Keeping your mind open in times of uncertainty is what I find most useful when I am lost and confused. Sometimes we have let go and let nature takes its course in order to find ourselves. Great poem. I could relate to almost every line.

You commented on my Snow Valley Summer Love story and I really appreciate that. It leads me to look up what you have written. "Lost" is the first thing I have read while outstanding it requires a lot of thought. I will now read everything else you have posted and see if I can find some answers. Great poetry does that, does it not?
