Lost Drinking Game

Do a Little Bonding with Jack, Kate, Sawyer and All the Other Folks on ABC's Mysterious Island

Charlotte Prescott
Gather 'round the television set, adjust those rabbit ears, and get ready to spend Tuesday nights lost with the most intriguing castaways in ABC history, while playing this game at home. This game is not actually about getting drunk. It's more about joining together to look for patterns. Many of Lost's characters have fairly predictable reactions. You can have a pull of whatever beverage you'd like, tally up points, or have a bowl of candies to grab from when ever you notice the following:

One drink whenever:

• A gun is pulled on somebody.

• Kate says "I'm going with you."

• Locke says "Don't tell me what I can't do."

• Hurley says "Dude."

• We see the smoke monster.

• Someone bleeds.

• A new Dharma-brand item appears, such as Dharma ranch dressing.

• Sun says "I'm trying to find my husband."

• Ben lies.

• An anonymous character dies.

• Sawyer is shirtless.

• You realize you're as hopelessly stuck on Lost as everyone else seems to be.

Two drinks whenever:

• Someone gets shot.

• Synchronicity is revealed, such as learning that Eloise Hawking is Daniel Ferraday's mother.

• Sayid calmly hurts somebody without using a weapon.

• Someone is imprisoned or held captive.

• Anyone says "I love you."

• Someone other than Desmond calls someone "Brother."

• A regular character dies.

• Mysterious healing occurs.

• The polar bear appears.

• We see Jacob.

• Someone claims "it's what The Island wants."

• A man other than Sawyer is shirtless.

• You secretly think you might be just a little bit more enthusiastic about "Lost" than the average person.

Three drinks whenever:

• Ben is telling the truth (let me know if you figure out how to do this).

• The mysterious chain of numbers-4 8 15 16 23 42-Hurley used to play the lottery appear (Season 6 only).

• You realize you've read one of the books Sawyer either refers to or is reading.

• Someone isn't really dead.

• Sawyer calls someone by their given name, instead of a nickname.

• Anyone on The Island makes something from coconuts, or references "Gilligan's Island" in any other way.

• A woman is shirtless.

• You finally admit you're fanatical about "Lost," and go search the Net for more theories about The Island..

And finally, if you learn or correctly guess all the questions that Lost's creators, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof have raised:

Drain the bottle. You've won, the game is over, and you're now free to return to what's left of your real life.

  • You don't have to drink to play! Extra points for eating mangoes or swilling Dharma soda.
  • Add another exciting element to watching "Lost" with this observation-based game.
  • Do you think you know what Hurley, Kate, and Sawyer will say next? Check it out.
There's only one way to win, but playing along with "Lost" is the real entertainment.

The bottle definitely would have been drained in last week's episode!

LOL... this is great! And yeah, I never thought about how often Kate says, "I'm going with you." That line alone would get everyone trashed!
