You would have encountered the problem of finding a file that you were sure to have saved somewhere in the computer. The file could be located in any number of folders or subfolders, and searching through each one of these folders is going to be extremely time consuming and frustrating. There are no limits to the variety of files that are stored in a system, e.g. word documents, excel sheets, web pages, PDF files and a host of different other types and you really need to have help to trace out any particular file you need. This is an extremely convenient functionality facilitated by the newer technology. The application will be able to find the files you require in many different ways. You can go for a general search, say all word document files, or narrow it down to a specific name. You can also use the star symbol if you are not sure of the full file name or the file type. Put a star at the appropriate place and the result will show all files containing the words you included in the search string.

If you are searching to find a folder, you can search for all folders and find the folder that you are looking for. If you are, however, not sure of the folder where the file is located, then go for a search for the file in all the directories. It is a common practice to hide sensitive files due to security reasons and after some time you may completely forget about the hidden files. If you wish to find a hidden file too, the application may come in handy. If there are changes incorporated in your files, you can still search the archive files to find your originals.

You will need such an application help if you store huge amount of data/files in your computer. During your work, you may be required to make changes to files but may not remember the files on which you worked after some time. With the use of a backup program the originals can always be backed up so that with the help of a search application you can always be reminded of the originals by scanning the disk.
