Lost Luggage in Wisconsin

Chad Daw
A few years ago, when I was traveling to Wisconsin for my sister's wedding, I found out how incompetent the airline personnel really are. Not only did they lose my tuxedo and personal hygiene items, but they claimed to have never received the suitcase. I showed them my claim ticket, had two witnesses talk to their manager, and they still refused to take responsibility for it.

Since I was going to my sister's wedding, the lost luggage affected me greatly. I had to go and rent a tuxedo, buy all new personal hygiene products, and a new suitcase. The wedding was a success, and even though my lost luggage story caused a negative impact upon my travels, I was able to replace my items. The airline, of course, was of no help, and to this day they still have no knowledge of the whereabouts of my luggage.

I know that this may sound like an everyday lost luggage horror story, but after I got back home things got really interesting. I received a call from a very strange number, which turned out to be a gentleman in Germany. Somehow, he had ended up with my luggage, and even though I did not have his, he offered to ship my belongings back to me.

After I received the suitcase in the mail and reimbursed the honest gentleman from Germany, I took the suitcase, and the claim ticket, down to the airlines and explained to them what happened. And as you probably already guessed, they still denied any knowledge of what happened, and claimed that my whole story was a scam in an attempt to swindle them out of money.

Needless to say, I no longer frequent this particular airline, and as a warning to all of you air travelers out there, be aware that your luggage may vanish without a trace. Always keep a bag with you that contains some clothes and personal items, just in case the airline ghost runs off with your personal effects.
