Lost Minutes with David Lins

The Lighthouse

Lost's final season continues, but first I would like to focus on what we (might) know so far. Fake Locke claims to be the good guy. He killed the original pilot. He ripped a French guy's arm off. He gave Mr. Eko a thrashing. He can't cross sonic fences or circles of ash (but you might want to make those circles big!). He hangs Richard in a bear bag and then tries to tell him how he would've treated him better than Jacob. He recruits Sawyer. He tells Sawyer that Jacob exploits people when they are at their lowest. He does this while Sawyer is drunk, listening to Iggy Pop and mourning the loss of Juliet. Most importantly, we still don't know his name. ...and yet...some people still think he will end up being the good guy.

19 - Jack looks in a mirror. They continue the mirror imagery that has appeared in every episode this season.

29 - It appears to be a Jack-centric episode. So far, season six has echoed season one. The pilot is followed by a Kate-centric episode (Tabula Rasa and What Kate Does). The next episode features Locke (the classic Walkabout and The Substitute). This week matches season one's White Rabbit.

02 - Jack is a dad and his child has a serious emo vibe. Not really looking forward to this episode.

49 - And there is the rabbit reference!

46 - Pepperidge Farms? Maybe I was wrong about this kid. Those cookies are only second to Thin Mints.

42 - Jin's leg in that bear trap just isn't right. I know one thing for certain. I am not messing with "Claire vs. Wild."

21 - I love that Hurley wrote a short novel on his arm! Another leftover set from Indiana Jones. Is it wrong that I was waiting for Miles to step on some bugs?

20 - That is one messed-up Cabbage Patch Kid.

25 - Claire isn't alone? My guess is her company is Fake Locke. Sayid has been claimed and Dogan said the same thing happened to Claire.

05 - McCutchin's sighting!

52 - Oh no! Claire has an axe. I am seriously hoping Claire doesn't hobble Jin before this episode is over. I am scared of Kathy Bates to this day.

31 - "You are still my friend, aren't you Jin?" This is the precise moment Jin knew he was in deep trouble.

04 - Neat little shout-out to the fans with the caves (complete with Adam and Eve).
05 - Jack's speech in the cave references White Rabbit directly. I doubt they will keep up the mirror episodes all season, but if they do...it would be easy to see where they will go next week (and I would love it).

08 - Hence! The title of the episode! I love how they keep finding huge things on the island. When they stumble across the Sandals Resort, it is going to be crazy!

04 - Let me axe you a question, "Where is my baby? Wrong answer!"

32 - Dogan is roughly the same generation as Jack? Did not see that coming? That means he hasn't been on the island very long.

00 - The first reflection looked like where Jin and Sun were married. And Shephard is number 23. The 23rd Psalm includes "the Lord is my shepherd."

57 - Between Jack and Claire, they need to check into a family rate at the Island anger management seminar.

10 - The reconciliation scene between Jack and his son was written incredibly well. Yes, they resolved the relationship issues faster than an after-school special, but I bought it.

17 - "Thanks for the seven years of bad luck by the way." I love that Jacob simply responds, "Ya got ink on your forehead."

20 - Not to get too theological on you, but this scene expertly illustrates why God approaches different people in different ways.

55 - Sayid would have known Jin was lying. Good thing he was talking to the other infected person.

30 - Not a big shock, but still fun to see Fake Locke show up.

We didn't see much of Fake Locke, but I'm feeling even more comfortable with Jacob after this episode. The questions remain. Who is Fake Locke? Who is coming to the temple? Is Sayid infected and when will we be able to tell? Is Jacob drawing anyone else to the island? When will Jin and Sun reunite? And what kind of detention does Mr. Linus hand out if you forget to do your European History assignment?
