Lost Planet: Extreme Condition New to PlayStation 3

Lost Planet: Extreme Condition is a newly released game for the PlayStation 3. Lost Planet: Extreme Condition has already been released for X-Box 360 for a couple months. But the highly anticipated release of it on PlayStation 3 is finally here. In Lost Planet: Extreme Condition you are a snow pirate and you have to fight for the thermal energy that the humans need to survive. The Play Station 3 version of this game includes 5 playable characters, and it is said the the PS3 version is the most feature complete package of this game.

In Lost Planet: Extreme Condition you can play multi player cooperative or verses battles. Lost Planet Offers two different modes of game play, the ability to fight on foot or in heavily armored Vital Suits. I first played the on-line multi player. After a few minuted of getting used to the game it became a lot of fun. Unlike most games where you just have the life bar, in this game you have a "Thermal energy" level that is constantly depleting. You must kill people and get the thermal energy they left behind so you don't freeze to death. I really liked that as you played several times you realize that there are different ways to get to the end of the level. This is nice because it makes the game more flexible.

I think the graphics in this game are incredible. The snow covered landscape and the rundown dilapidated buildings are very realistic. The effects are also great, when a missile goes past your head you actually see the smoke following it. The sound effects in this game are also very good. You hear each step you take as your feet crunch on the snow, and when you hear the gun fire and rockets it sounds very realistic.

I would have to say one of the best things about this game is the price. You can buy this game for right around $40, which is $20 less then most new PS3 games. I think for $40 this is an excellent deal. Don't get me wrong there are some drawbacks to this game. The storyline leaves a lot to be desired, but honestly how many people play shooter games for the story. The controls also take some getting used to. My other complaint is that you can only play on-line multi-player, you can't play split screen at home with your friends.

Overall I think this is a excellent game. The on-line multi-player game play is excellent. This game is a lot of fun, and that is all that really matters when it comes down to it. If you are really worried if you will like it or not, PS3 is offering a free demo. Download the demo and that will give you a pretty good idea of the game. I would recommend this game to anyone who like shooter games. Since the price is well under the other new PS3 games I would definitely recommend getting this game to anyone considering it.
