Lost Season Four Post-Strike Changes and Spoilers

Pam Gaulin
The post-strike about ABC's Lost is both good and bad. The bad news for some is that there will only be five new episodes tacked on to the end of the season, instead of the eight originally planned.

Lost Season Four Lives On

The good news is that the entire story line for Season Four will still be played out. What does this mean for Lost fans? More action-packed, concentrated storytelling. The episodes will be more intense than ever, as the writing will go into its own form of hyper drive, condensing eight hours of plot into five.

Lost co-creator and producer Damon Lindelof has been quoted in various places as saying:

"We are going to execute our full story plan for season four. This simply requires a shift from high-octane storytelling to super high-octane storytelling. It requires no cramming, only a slightly heavier foot on the gas pedal, so hold on to your hats. Those of you waiting for the long-anticipated Jin and Hurley Ping-Pong tournament, however, will be very disappointed," Damon Lindelof.

Warning: Stop here if you don't want to read the spoilers.

This is what we've seen so far:

Lost: The Beginning of the End 4.01 - 1/31/2008
Lost: Confirmed Dead 4.02 - 2/7/2008
Lost: The Economist 4.03 - 2/14/2008

The remainder of the episodes which were filmed before the strike will be seen now through March, except for one. (AskKristin, E!)

Lost: Eggtown 4.04 will air 2/21/2008

Spoiler: Eggtown is a Kate-centric episode, which will please many fans who can't seem to get enough of Evangeline Lily. There will be island time and flash forward time for Miss Kate. There is a court scene, as implied by the guest star list found on TV.com. The characters include a judge and a bailiff.

Lost: The Constant 4.05 will air 2/28/2008

Spoiler: The Constant is a Desomond-Centric episode where we get to see more of Penny.

Lost: The Other Woman 4.06 will air 3/6/2008

Spoiler: Sorry Kate, romance heats up between Jack and Juliet in this Juliet-centric episode.

Lost: Ji Yeonw will 4.07 air on 3/13/2008

Spoiler: Zoe Bell, who looks like the love child of Jennifer Grey and Jodie Foster. She is a stunt woman, and we may see some nifty action in this episode. According to the episode guide and guest star information at TV.com Zoe Bell will be playing Regina. Remember the bracelet in Lost: The Economist 4.03?

We know that this is a flash forward episode with Sun and Jin, who it will be revealed, play a much bigger part in the Lost plot than we have been lead to believe. There are also unconfirmed rumors that this is the episode in which Michael re-appears (Wikipedia).

The weeks between March 13, 2008 and April 24, 2008 will bring a time slot change and some Lost repeats on ABC.

The final pre-strike episode will air as a premiere leading into the new post-strike episodes in April.

Meet Kevin Johnson 4.08 4/24/2008

Spoiler: This is a Michael-centric episode showing that Michael is one the people that gets off the island but is not one of the Oceanic Six.

TBA 4.09 5/1/2008 *Please note: beginning in May, Lost will move to 10pm on Thursday nights, as Gray's Anatomy finds its home again at 9pm on ABC. Grey's Anatomy is scheduled to air five new episodes.

The last four shows will air consecutively on Thursday nights at 10pm on ABC through the end of May.

This show has had problems from day one so I'm not surprised they cut the episodes.

S4.3 Experiential missile has Daniel worried that one clock is slower than the other. Read about the Minkowski diagram of relativistic time dilation paradox with a link to a interactive Java visual in my upcoming article.

I would be so mad if this were a show I watched and the season reduced to 5 shows.
