Lotrimin AF Works for Many Skin-Related Fungal Infections

A Product Review

Charlotte Kuchinsky
I tend to get a lot of different types of infections, including fungal. No one can tell me why, but it seems I am constantly fighting one infection or another.

When it comes to skin-related fungal infections, my doctor often prescribes Lotrimin AF Clortrimazole Cream. Probably best known as a cure for jock itch and athlete's foot, Lotrimin AF actually works on a variety of skin-related fungal infections.

It promises to relieve the itching, burning, scaling and chafing related with these types of infections. Does it work? Let's take a look and see.

Lotrimin AF contains 1% clotrimazole cream. It also contains water, stearyl alcohol, sorbitan monostearate, polysorbate 60, ochtyldodecanol, cetyl esters wax, cetyl alcohol and benzyl alcohol.

Clotrimazole skin cream is routinely used to tinea infections of the skin. It is known to reduce the symptoms associated with these problems. These include burning, chafing, itching, redness and swelling.

A 1% solution is apparently sufficient for treating minor infections. Therefore Lotrimin AF has a sufficient amount of clotrimazole cream to work its magic in these areas.

That does not mean; however, that everyone can use Lotrimin AF or that it can be used for every fungal related infection. It is advisable only for exterior skin problems, although a type of clortrimazole cream is also used to treat vaginal yeast infections.

Lotrimin AF is strictly made for adults and should not be used on children under the age of two. In fact, it shouldn't be used on children at all without the specific approval of a physician.

If additional itching, burning, swelling or redness occurs while using Lotrimin AF, it it important to stop further dosages. Instead, contact a physician so he or she can prescribe something different. Those type of symptoms could constitute a allergic reaction to the cream.

Other symptoms to watch for include an unexplained blistering of the skin. This could indicate a severe reaction that requires immediate medical attention.

Avoid getting Lotrimin AF in the eyes. If this does occur inadvertently, continue rinsing the eyes with cold water until all stinging stops. If it doesn't cease within a few minutes, report to an ER facility right away.

To use Lotrimin AF, begin by cleaning the infected area. Pat dry upon completion.

Next, apply a thin layer of the cream. Do not over apply. In this case, more is not going to be helpful.

You can use the product daily for up to two weeks. Upon completion of that time, if the infection has not improved, make an appointment to see your doctor. Never continue using the product beyond the two-week time period without a doctor's approval.

Do not use Lotrimin AF on the scalp, finger nails or toe nails. Under no circumstances use this cream internally.

Always store Lotrimin AF between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit. If it is accidentally frozen or affected by heat, throw the cream away and purchase a new tube.

The good news is that Lotrimin AF appears to work well. It cures a fungal infection within the time period specified and leaves skin soft and smooth. I give if 5 out of 5 stars.

RATING SCALE:

5 stars = outstanding
4 stars = good
3 stars = average
2 stars = below average

Thanks for sharing. Excellent product review! I also used to be the recipient of every infection known to man. Then I started researching and cross referencing my symptoms. I completely detoxed my body, and I now take a supplement daily that includes zinc, C, and magnesium. I avoid inhaling toxic substances from mercury and lead to pollutants and cigarette smoke. I no longer get infections, because I have strengthened my immune system. The detox is probably the best thing that I could have ever done to my body.

Excellent job on this, Charlie, I had a chronic ear infection and it was determined that it was fungal, so using it outside my ear and even in the surrounding areas helped tremendously!
