Louisville Center for Spiritual Living Offers "Simplify" Workshop

Rev. Carolyn Harvill of the Louisville Center for Spiritual Living, serving the greater Kentuckiana area, invites you to a workshop on how to "Simplify". As I was preparing this article I started to introduce this event as a workshop on "Simplifying Your Life". But, then I thought, well, that actually feels kind of big and overwhelming to think about in the space of an afternoon. It is really, very simply, about how to simplify anything at all. And, just like that, three words packing the idea heavily, trimmed down to one word speaking our whole intention easily. This spontaneity is just one example of what this opportunity is all about.

How many areas of your life would you like to simplify when you think about it? Our physical lives can be simplified; our personal emotional lives can be simplified; our relationships can be simplified; our financial lives can be simplified. This list could go on and on. There are ways to simplify just about any area of life you can think of. "Simplify" is an adventure in discovering the areas it would best serve you to simplify and how to go about doing it. As the afternoon unfolds participants will have a chance to consider and talk about some of the influences in our lives that can feel complex and stressful. Understanding, particularly when shared with others, naturally sheds light on our choices. There will be experiential exercises focusing on pivotal questions: What are my priorities and values? What are my personal needs? What is worth my time? We will have the opportunity to put "simplifying" into practice so we can get the hang of making things simple, in general. Come join us for an afternoon of releasing what we don't want, opening up more room for what is calling us in our deepest desires.

The "Simplify" Workshop is being held Sunday, July 19, 2009, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., at Louisville Center for Spiritual Living, located at 222 West Park Place, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. This is the fourth event in a series of community service events offered in 2009 by Louisville Center for Spiritual Living.
