Moore's Sewing and Learning Center
Located at 4100 Outer Loop, Moore's Sewing offers several types of sewing lessons. They are open Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 in the evening, and they offer evening, morning and Saturday classes. They offer paid quilting classes on an individual class basis and a "learn to sew" program that offers sewing lessons that run from five to eight weeks. Depending on the length of the "learn to sew" class, prices range from $125 for five weeks to $150 for eight weeks.

Aside from offering sewing lessons in Louisville, Moore's also contributes to the Kosair Children's Charity. They offer free quilting lessons to individuals with a program called "Project Linus". Jefferson County Adult and Continuing Education
Part of the public school system, Jefferson County Adult and Continuing Education offers a variety of sewing lessons in Louisville at different public schools in the evenings. The sewing lessons are offered in spring, summer and fall sessions. There are two sessions per season. They offer sewing lessons that cover the following types of topics: upholstery, sewing for the home, beginning sewing, tatting (Victorian lacework), knitting, and quilting. These classes are one night a week for four weeks, and students are required to bring their own sewing machines.

If you don't know how to use your machine, they offer a one night course that is an introduction to using sewing machines. They also offer sewing machine lessons for the Serger Sewing Machine that last one night. (It is a bit more complex than other machines.)
