My life has had so many ups and downs
Just like a child with a toy my hearts been played around
I would open up my heart to a man and let him in
Next thing I know he's gone and I'm left with nothing

In all my relationships there was something missing
It was the love for myself there was nothing within
If I did not love myself how can a man do the same
He treated me like I treated myself, now who was left to blame?

Then came the day I finally did see
My happiness can not come from a man, it must first come from me
If I respect my body and spiritual feeding never neglect
When the time is right, my love will come and my heart he will always protect
