Love Him or Hate Him:This Is Simon Cowell

Lana
Known in America for being the most controversial judge on American Idol, for his brutal honesty that can sometimes seem cruel. Those that watch American Idol have made their opinion of Simon Cowell ,either they love him or hate him, there is usually no middle ground.

Born to parents Julie and Eric Cowell in Brighton,East Sussex,England in 1959,one of six children,he has two nieces and a nephew. He has come by his traits easily and naturally, as most British people tend to be cynical and straight forward.

Dropping out of high school at age 17 he took on a string of odd jobs mainly just to get by but, tended to butt heads with his co-workers and even bosses. His father got him his first job in the music industry working for EMI Music Publishing ,in the mail room.Getting that little taste of the music industry he worked hard and pushed himself to make a name.

Simon had worked his way up in the music industry forming his own independent music company which soon folded over leading to him bankruptcy and at 30 he was forced to move back in with his parents. That same year his luck changed and he became a A&R consultant for BMG in the UK and now is an executive for BMG.He has signed a number of acts to S Records including chart toppers Westlife. In 2002,S Records became part of Columbia Records and BMG and in 2003 Simon sold his share of S Records to BMG for $42 million dollars thus, becoming a millionaire.

Watching the ever popular number one reality show American Idol we have heard Simon use these obvious sayings " That was horrendous","That was appalling" and " I'm not being rude..." over and over.In one interview this is what he had to say "America is larger than life, you try sitting through three weeks of auditions hearing a song like " I believe I can fly " out of tune for the millionth time and YOU try to be nice."I'd say personally I'd have to agree with that.Obviously because of his music industry success he does know what he is talking about.

But,is Simon Cowell really all that bad? After all he is human and he does have a soft side, for instance during an audition for American Idol one contestant stated that she had quit her job at a hair salon to try to pursue her singing career, after being rejected Simon called her boss and got her job back for her.

I think Simone Cowell is the biggest
jerk off. He's rude, he's obnoxious,
and he puts people down. I hate him
and I always hated him because he is
    such a prick.
