Love, What is Love?

Alexis Sullivan
Love. What a powerful word and yet it is thrown around with such ease everyday. "I love that song.....I love that movie." Where does love begin? In the mind or in the heart? Does your mind think it first and then your heart believes it too? Or does your heart feel it first and then whisper to your mind what has happened? What exactly is love? Is it the rhythm of your rapidly beating heart when that "special" someone is near? Is is the flutter of butterflies that starts in the pit of your stomach when they look at you? Or is it the rush of emotion that surrounds your heart when they touch you? Maybe it's in the shine of their eyes when they laugh. Perhaps it's in the curve of their lips when they smile. Maybe, just maybe its in the smell of their cologne/perfume as they pass you by. No one really knows what love is or what causes it. So many long for it and yet so few find it.

When it comes to me I have yet to experience that love. It has managed to evade my searching heart. Love for me is like cotton candy, as soon as you put it in your mouth its gone before you've had a chance to enjoy it and all that's left is a whisper of what could have been. Constantly I reach out my hand for love and it, like water, slips silkily through my fingers. Nevertheless, I will continue my quest for love. Will it hide from me forever or will I finally find it? I don't know. So few ever really do.

I think a lot of people feel this way. Despite the uncertainty of the whole business, when you find true and abiding love from a wonderful person, your outlook changes drastically. Great job putting your feelings into words.
