Love is a Mystery

The Song from Your Window

Dan Reveal
The song from your window is the most merciful rest,
so you should believe it could all be so true.
And though the realness of your heart won't be found until later,
you can learn to tell an empty place from the person that is you.

And you could probably decide to love me,
when you find that I'm a harmless man.
I'll be over later to share yesterday's coffee.
Love is a mystery that takes two to understand.

There's no need to doubt the burning leaves of your creation,
for I had always been part of your morning glory dew.
How could I keep from trusting the love
of the honey heart sunshine girl that turned out to be you?

And when those teacup times start to have a life of their own,
I'll be happy to visit your winding footstep garden place.
Please come inside and I'll sing you to sleep,
for this chance of a lifetime is found in the pretty of your face.

And you could probably decide to love me,
when you find that I'm a harmless man.
I'll be over later to share yesterday's coffee.
Love is a mystery that takes two to understand.

Lovely poem, Dan. I especially liked the line, "I had always been part of your morning glory dew." Great imagery.
