I believed it when you told me
That you loved me and you care
But when I turned to you for comfort
I didn't see you there
I was reaching trying to hold
Onto something that wasn't true
I thought for sure you meant it
When you told me "I love you"
I realize now I was wrong
For believing what you said
I gave you all my heart
And now it's bleeding red
Because my feelings still are true
And all my love is all still there
I am angry and I am hurt
But, unfortunately, I still care
Does that make me crazy?
Perhaps you think I may be
But I saw the person you really are
Not this shell you want others to see
I know that you are hurt inside
And that you want that to go away
That you are afraid that it will happen again
So you don't want anyone to stay
I know that what you are doing
Must be tearing you apart
You are making up this façade
To protect your tattered heart
I am on other side of the wall now
Watching the vines grow tall
Weeping at the memories
Of when we had it all
