Love is like trying to chase down the wind
It will challenge your heart again and again
The wind only knows which direction it blows
Most of us simple get caught in its tow
It will challenge your heart again and again
The wind only knows which direction it blows
Most of us simple get caught in its tow
Sometimes it can sweep you right off of your feet
Swirling and whirling the dust in the street
And sometimes it's gentle and soft as a prayer
Ruffling curtains and tousling your hair
You can not chase the wind nor capture or tame it
Have faith and believe don't try to explain it
You can gather your courage and stand bravely your ground
Embrace and respect love and not chase it down

Post a CommentThe phrase, "Chase Down the Wind" was part of my toast at one of my best friends wedding. He didn't have a brother so he chose me to be his Best Man, yes, Best Man. His wife didn't have a sister so her brother was her Maid of Honor. Was an interesting Maid and Best Man first dance, I must say!
Absolutely enjoyed this poem. Love really is like "trying to chase down the wind".

Very nice! Yes, love is usually elusive when we try to chase after it. Best to let it capture us.
