Love Poem: Running in Two Different Circles

Michael Mann
We run in two different circles, having virtually nothing in common. We don't even know each other all that well, simple words in passing. Yet, I feel as if you are someone I can learn to care for. Seeing you from a distance, I admire your beauty and the way you carry yourself. Up close, I admire your inner beauty and sense your reluctance to fall in love with anyone so different from yourself.

It may seem at first glance there in nothing in common between us, yet we both bleed red and have cried more times than we care to admit. Our hearts, our souls and even our bodies have been broken and torn all apart. Walls have been built to keep others out, and as a side effect keep ourselves walled in from the world around us. No more heart, no more pain. No more trust, no more love as well.

The buckling in my knees when you walk by, and the love that radiates from my heart for you, only blocked by the walls I've built to protect myself. Why can I not let my hearts walls tumble? Why can I not let you in?
