Other poets to mention (ones I've seen perform) are 16 Bars and Ausar. Both of these poets work will be featured in an upcoming novel titled: My Souls Desire in May of 2007 by Author (yes, me!) Yulonda M. Brown. I heard these poets flow one Weds night and I was sold! The imagery and intense sexual nature of their work fit well with my current project and I just had to bring them on board. As far as the type of crowd that frequents the club; many local and out of state celebrities have passed through including the likes of Arvin Mitchell, The St. Lunatics, and a host of other entertainers. Oh yes, DJ Reminence spinning on the one and twos handles his biz quite well!
The best thing about this venue is a sense of culture. A new intellectual feeling amongst a group of African Americans. Plus all the power social networking amongst some of St. Louis's newest and upcoming entrepreneurs, and artist from all areas. Painters, Authors, Poets, Club/Party Promoters, Screen-Writers, Play Producers, Political Figures get their network on! I love the vibe of black folk doing successful things in the community!
