Love Song by Sara Bareilles

R.A. Riter
Love Song was the first song released from Sara Bareille's album Little Voice. It ended up being nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. It can be found on a Rhapsody commercial, including her other song Bottle It Up. This song reached great success for being the first song she released and can be heard on may television shows. It has been played during the show The Return of Jezebel James and the movies Made of Honor, Suburban Girl, and All About Steve. It has also been played on a Brazilian soap opera. Bareilles said the inspiration for this song came for when the record company told her to write a catchy love song.

The video, directed by Josh Forbes, shows Bareilles playing the piano in a miniature jukebox that only plays love songs. Men and women stream to the jukebox to continue hearing this song being played. Bareilles, who can be seen through a keyhole, takes a coin that was rolled in and jammed it. The following morning, the owner of the booth notices the dark, silent jukebox. He retrieves the coin and gives to the Bareilles.

This song was offered as a free download on iTunes before it became famous. It debuted a few weeks after this free download, in which it came onto spot 100. After the Rhapsody commercial, Love Song jumped up the charts from spot 72 to 16. It also jumped up twenty-seven spots on the Hot Digital Songs chart. It has sold over 1.3 million copies to date.

In the beginning of 2008, the song jumped up to number nine where it stayed for a while until it reached its top spot at number four. Love Song has been certified as a 2x Platinum song.

This song has found great success on the charts. It reached as high as number four on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It was able to reach the top of three U.S. Charts, however.
