"Loveable" Owen Wilson Hits Rock Bottom

Living the so-called "good life" and referred to often as the "lovable funny man" you would think that Owen Wilson would have no reason to attempt suicide but,shockingly on August 26 the harsh reality of too much pressure seemed to take it's toll on Owen. Owen's brother Andrew was the one who found him near-comatose from an obvious over dose of pills and alarming superficial wounds on both wrists.

Supposedly Owen had been battling months of depression. And while he was making You,Me & Dupree, Owen was introduced to heroin and cocaine by British comedian Steve Coogan. Sources have stated that Owen used these form of drugs to basically self medicate. His declining spiral seemed to worsen after his jilting break up with Kate Hudson leading to frenzy state in which he could no longer control. As many people who become dependent on drugs to ease their suffering there will a rock bottom and this was it for Owen.

Well liked and respected by his fellow actors and actresses as well as his directors and producers this suicide attempt came as a shock to many. Friends have always seen Owen as a fun-loving guy,at least on the outside,he hid everything else that he was going through quite well.He had said in prior interviews that " everyone has their bad days,up and downs but you just go on," little did anyone know that his bad days were really bad. Unfortunately this kind of behavior is the norm in Hollywood.

Owens friends and family have been very supportive and attentive some even speaking on Owens behalf such as good friend Courtney Love "Under normal circumstances I wouldn't comment but I care to much for Owen to let it go," she fully blames her ex-boyfriend Steve Coorgan for introducing Owen to the "easy out" drug lifestyle.

Thankfully Owen is now on the road to recovery and doing well,he did make a statement asking the press that he be allowed to heal privately. Owen has pulled out of his latest project working with Ben Stiller on Tropic Thunder to take some time off to recover. Ben said " I love working with Owen he is a great person and he needs this time to get back to himself, we'll work together again just not on this project".
