Lover's Chase
It looked for her
Steady and unfaltering pursuit
Closing in just before she slipped from its grasp
Time and years pass by
As the chase grows into a fleeing panic
She runs and dodges it
Forcing it from her
As though it would engulf her
And never let her back up
Time goes by
And the chase seems to end
With her unharmed and free
Until the day
When her guard drops
And one who loves her
Gets in
