The chilled winds of October
Have found their way into my heart.
Our love affair is now over
Almost before it got its start.
You promised that you'd love me
Until the end of this earth's time
But you lied and you left me;
Without reason and without rhyme.
You took all I had to give
You showed no mercy and no shame.
There's no reason left to live.
I do not even share your name.
I've been stripped bare and broken.
I may never rise up again.
Because of the lies spoken;
Because of the depth of your sin.
I pity the next target
That you choose along life's highway.
Her life will see true regret
And there will be nothing left to say.
If I could have but one wish
This is surely what it would be
To spare her the rancid dish
You so willingly fed to me.

Post a CommentI can relate! Very well done. My heart aches for my losses by reading this. You grab my emotions with your words. Bravo!
good one, Charlie!
very powerful...
Nicely done, Charlotte.
Sad story, but oh so true for so many people out there.
It is tough to read one's motives. We have to believe too but then some have ziltch scruples. What you have said so eloquently applies universally and especially ruins the lives of many innocents. There are many wolves in sheep's clothing! - siva
We have to keep our heart AND our eyes open when we enter a new relationship! Full trust takes time to achieve.
Beautifully eloquent, deeply expressive, and wonderfully poetic. Thanks!
So sad and awful.
very good
