If something I could say would change things I would apologize
But you were still in love with someone else and your eyes could not lie
Physically we met but mentally with me you were never alive
I acknowledge the pain of knowing the truth with each tear that falls from my eyes
How could I deny what I knew then and still know now
You successfully disengaged while my emotions ran wild
You say we were just fooling around but I cannot agree when I fully let my guard down
Now I am alone trying to withdraw myself from feelings that continue to lurk around
But one day I will be free from thoughts of you but I will be forever changed
From knowing that love has no regard for what I try to make it out to be
So it's no coincidence it has its own way of saying goodbye
