Creepy crawlers make me hurl
I do not camp
I like my lamps
And all the perks of modern worlds
I'm allergic to the sun
In the shade I have my fun
Indoor plumbing is my friend
Facebook, emails, tweets to send
Technology's web forever spun
But still I tremble in God's wake
At breathless views of mountain lakes
Of fields of flowers and endless beauty
The scents of nature, spice and fruity
To preserve them changes we must make
And so this Earth Day I do pledge
To do my part reducing carbon's edge
To be more aware of climate change
Turn off my lights; use less of the gas range
To be less wasteful, so no one can allege
That I didn't do my part
To preserve God's art
For we were the ones He left in charge
To protect all creatures, both small and large
Let's keep the world within our hearts
It's the 40th year of Earth Day's birth
Know that future children will judge our worth
On our ability to mend our lifestyle
To be green, resourceful, and recycle
So let's all be kind to Mother Earth
I am not an outdoor girl
But I value all of nature's pearls
And marvel at the planet's wonders
With its teeming life above and under
My love for Earth in the modern world
