For one week, Kwanzaa, will be spotlighted at the Children's Museum annual Seasons of Sharing celebration. This event is hugely popular amongst children and families as they gather from all over the greater Houston area for a unique, cultural experience. Kids will be able to make various items associated with Kwanzaa (i.e., Kinara, Mkeka - woven mat, Kufi hats, corn necklaces and more), as well as watch an African dance group perform. If you're really feelin' the beat, you can even participate in African dance workshops! The dance group is scheduled to perform on:

Wednesday, December 26: 2:30 p.m.

Thursday, December 27: 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, December 29: 2:30 p.m.

Times:

Monday-Saturday: 10am-6pm

Sunday: 12Noon-6pm

Tickets:

$5 per person,

$4 for seniors 65 yrs. and older.

$3 per person from 3pm-5pm. Children under two and Museum Members are admitted free of charge.

Free Family Nights are offered Thursdays from 5pm-8pm

S.H.A.P.E. Community Center

S.H.A.P.E. is an acronym meaning Self Help for African People through Education, and annually they host a very exciting Kwanzaa celebration in the historic Third Ward area of Houston, TX. This phenomenal program is attended by hundreds and caters to the entire family.
