Low Budget Spring 2010 Fashion Ideas and Trends

Style and Shopping Guide

Stocking your wardrobe for spring does not have to cost you a tiny fortune. There are several new low budget spring trends that can be found and incorporated into your fall and winter wardrobe. The following spring 2010 fashion ideas and trends let you spruce up your wardrobe on a budget.

Breton Stripe Tops
Breton striped tops are back, in a big way. Spring is a great time to sport this look too, because of the easy and casual feel that the Breton stripes exude. For spring, there are tons of low budget options and the simple look has been slightly embellished and played with to create a fresh feel for this fashion staple. The navy blue and white tops come in thin sweater versions, light cottons, and short, three quarter and long sleeved, with everything from button detailing to off the shoulder cuts. For budget options try Old Navy, which even has a Breton Stripe Jersey Dress, and Target for options under $30.

Knee Highs
If there is still a chill in the air, then this trend will help you leave winter behind and glide into summer painlessly. Again, a remnant of winter and the thigh high boots that everyone has been pulling on over their knees for the past four months, the knee high and thigh high socks are going to be a spring 2010 staple. For just a few dollars per pair, the low budget option can be found practically everywhere. Some ideas for wearing them include paired with mini skirts, short shorts and thigh length dresses.

Big Bows
This spring trend is a combination of Lady Gaga bow hair accessories and recent bunny ear runway fashion. The bunny ears are hard to pull off, hard to find and they are not at all budget friendly in most cases. Bows on the other hand have been used to embellish just about everything. To really capture the look, opt for big and bold bows that are placed where they will definitely be noticed. Bows on headbands, clipped to a shoulder and looped over a belt are all great ways to wear this look. Try Fred Flare for several accessory and jewelry options, and Forever 21 for bow adorned headbands for as cheap as $2 and bow front clothing for under $30.

Boyfriend Blazers
If you already spent money on a boyfriend blazer for last season, you are in luck because this trend will carry over into spring. Boyfriend blazers are quintessential casual spring wear because of their loose shape and the tendency to roll up the sleeves. Wear your blazer over thin tops, dresses and casual t shirts. If you do not already have one, Kohl's and JCPenney department stores have quality options, from well known designers, for under $30.
