These Raisin Cookies Are Very Low Calorie Cookies!

Cookie diets are a fad right now, and you even read about them in major newspapers! The premise is that you can control your calorie and fat intake by allotting so many of these cookies as meal replacements. I don't know about that, but it does help to be able to pinpoint the caloric value of a snack in your diet program. These low calorie cookies have around 55 calories a cookie if you get a 6 dozen yield from this recipe.

The side benefit from this cookie recipe is that they are good for you, providing 40 mg. of potassium per cookie, too. If you are going to snack, it should surely be a healthy cookie like this.

Recipe

Ingredients:

Self-rising flour: 2 1/4 cups

Brown Sugar: 1 1/2 cups

Butter or margarine: 1 stick

Raisins: 1 cup

Applesauce: 1/2 cup

Eggs: 2

Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon

Vanilla; 1 teaspoon

Preheat the oven to 375 degree.

Cream margarine and sugar, and add remaining ingredients.

Drop by small spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.

When you press on cookie when done, there should almost be no indention.
