Low calorie mixed drinks are a must have for health conscious people. There are two main rules when choosing a mixed drink to make sure your not gulping down a large amount of calories. Look for mixed drinks with a lower alcohol content, most calories some from sweet liquors. For example 80 proof vodka has 64 calories per ounce while 100 proof vodka has 82 calories per ounce. Cocktails that do not have a large amount of different drink mixes in it are going to be lower in calories than drinks that do. All these mixes are to add flavor but have a high sugar content. Here are 5 low calorie mixed drinks sure to impress your friends.

The Cosmopolitan

Made famous by the hit television show turned movie Sex in the City the Cosmopolitan mixed drink can be made with little calories.

Crystal Light 5 Calorie Drink Mix packet and Bottle of 16.9 oz water

Using these ingredients instead of the normal cranberry juice and stronger alcohol you can get away with a mere 75 - 100 calories here as opposed to the normal 400-450 calories.

Bloody Mary

A classic Bloody Mary has always been a hit with mixed drinks. Now that you're counting calories it is nice to know about 125 - 150 calories are in the typical drink. Make sure not to order this drink with stronger alcohol because all that does is pack on the calories.
